NORFOLK ADVOCATES FOR CHILDREN | GARDEN OF HOPE

Kristin Maloney and Julianne Silva of the Hockomock Area YMCA delivered painted rocks to the Norfolk Advocates for Children Garden of Hope from 14 YMCA sites! The YMCA joined us in spreading awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month and helped us distribute painting kits to children and families throughout our community.

ONE WITH COURAGE (English)
ONE WITH COURAGE (Espanol)

HOW CAN I BE THE ONE WITH COURAGE?

Child sexual abuse is a crime of secrecy and is hard for adults to talk about. That’s why Norfolk Advocates for Children is endorsing the “One with Courage” national campaign to focus on the courage it takes to talk about child sexual abuse.  You can be the One with Courage to encourage others to talk openly about it. We believe that the eradication of child abuse begins with building informed, empowered communities with the courage to talk openly about child abuse.  You can be the ONE to effect change.  Know the signs.  Know the truth.  Be the ONE with Courage.

STEP UP AND SPEAK OUT
Join the Hockomock Area YMCA and community partners
and step up and speak out against child sexual abuse.

NAC OVERVIEW
Norfolk Advocates for Children
(NAC) opened a new, state-of-art
and child friendly facility in April
2010 in Foxborough.  This was the culmination of many years of
planning with the District Attorney’s Office, our community partners, and the NAC Board of Directors.  Thank you to District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey for his ongoing support and partnership with the NAC.

The NAC also thanks Congressman William R. Keating, former Norfolk District Attorney for his support in the planning and opening of the NAC in Foxborough in 2010.

Across Massachusetts and the
United States, Children’s Advocacy
Center’s (CACs) are distinguished
by their multi-disciplinary,
team-oriented and victim-friendly response to child abuse cases.
Since the inception of the first
CAC in 1985 in Huntsville, Alabama, the number of CACs has grown to
over 750 nationally.
